Finding Belonging at the Well — Genesis 29 Devotional
Jacob's feet moved with new confidence after encountering God at Bethel. But it was at a dusty well, among ordinary shepherds and gathering flocks, that he discovered the people God had prepared for him. Sometimes belonging begins with one person willing to roll away the stone.
When Your Feet Get Happy
Picture yourself in a new city where you know no one, standing in line at a coffee shop, wondering if you'll ever find "your people." That knot in your stomach, the weight of starting over, the fear that maybe this time you won't belong anywhere, Jacob felt it too as he walked into unfamiliar territory, carrying the promise of God's presence but still wondering how it would all work out.
Genesis 29:1-14 captures that vulnerable moment when divine promise meets human uncertainty, showing us how God weaves belonging into the fabric of our ordinary days.
