God Delights in Gentleness — Isaiah 42 Devotional
There's a woman in our neighborhood who rescues dying plants no one else will touch. Everyone sees trash. She sees possibility. And God, watching her tend what others abandoned, smiles. Because He measures strength differently than the world does.
Imagine a woman in your neighborhood who rescues dying plants. She'll find them on curbs after garage sales, wilted and forgotten, their leaves brown at the edges. Everyone else sees trash. She sees possibility. Day after day, she waters them, whispers to them, refuses to give up. Most people think she's wasting her time. But come spring, her garden blooms with life that others had written off as dead.
Maybe you know what it feels like to be that gardener, pouring yourself into gentle work that no one notices, wondering if your quiet approach actually makes any difference in a world that rewards force and volume.
