Jesus Leads the Way Through Fear — Mark 10:32-34

The disciples watched Jesus stride toward Jerusalem, laying out every agonizing detail of what awaited him. They were amazed and terrified. Yet they kept following. Sometimes faithful discipleship looks like putting one foot in front of the other while your heart pounds with fear.

The One Who Walks Ahead

Sometimes love compels us to follow someone into darkness we don't understand. Picture trailing behind a parent into a hospital room where terrible news waits, or walking beside a friend through crisis while feeling utterly unprepared. Your feet keep moving because abandoning them is unthinkable, even as dread pools in your stomach.

This is exactly where Jesus' disciples find themselves on the road to Jerusalem. He strides ahead with divine determination while they stumble behind, caught between amazement at his resolve and terror at what lies ahead. Love keeps them walking, even when understanding fails.
