There's a particular ache that comes when someone says "I understand" but you know they don't. They haven't walked your specific path of pain. Their well-meaning words bounce off the walls of your suffering without finding a way in. Sometimes we wonder if even God, in all his power and wisdom, truly grasps what we're facing from down here in the mess of human experience.
