Love That Kneels — John 13 Foot-Washing Devotional
Picture the moment when you're about to serve someone who might not notice, or who could walk away. Now imagine having such unshakeable confidence in who you are that you kneel anyway, not to prove yourself, but because you already know your worth.
When Love Makes You Kneel
Picture the moment when you're about to serve someone who doesn't deserve it, who might not notice, or who could very well walk away. Your heart pounds with the question: "What if this makes me look weak? What if they take advantage?" Now imagine having such unshakeable confidence in who you are that you kneel anyway, not because you have to prove yourself, but because you already know your worth.
This is exactly where Jesus finds himself in John 13, knowing his hour has come, knowing one will betray him, knowing his earthly ministry is ending. Yet he doesn't retreat or protect himself. Instead, he picks up a towel and does the unthinkable, serving from the most secure place in the universe: perfect love from the Father.
