When God Draws Near in Your Lowest Point — Lamentations 3

When Rock Bottom Becomes Holy Ground

The sound of your own voice calling out in desperation from what feels like the bottom of everything, the job loss that came out of nowhere, the betrayal that shattered your trust, the diagnosis that changed everything, the loss that left you hollow. There's something about rock bottom that strips away everything except the most honest prayer: "God, are you even listening?"

The speaker in Lamentations knew this sound intimately. From what he calls "the low dungeon," he cried out to God, and what happened next reveals something profound about how God responds when we're at our lowest point.
