Did God Really Say? Genesis 2-3 on Trusting Boundaries

The serpent's question carries more weight than we notice. "Did God really say?" plants doubt not about what God said, but about whether He's generous. We still hear that voice when His boundaries feel limiting.

Did God Really Say? Genesis 2-3 on Trusting Boundaries

The Question That Changes Everything

You know that moment when a clear boundary suddenly feels unreasonable? Maybe a parent's "no" that seemed arbitrary, a friend's advice that felt too restrictive, or your own gut instinct warning you away from something that looked perfectly good. That internal wrestling match, between what we want and what we know is wise, creates its own kind of exhaustion.

That voice of doubt, "Are you sure this is really off-limits? Maybe you're missing out on something good", is as old as Eden itself, where the first humans faced the same exhausting choice: trust God's protective boundaries or take on the crushing responsibility of deciding good and evil for themselves.

Stop and read Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7. Read it on Bible Gateway if you'd like.
