From the Depths — Psalm 130 and God's Forgiveness

At 3 AM, the ceiling becomes a screen for your worst moments. But the psalmist knew something that changes everything: the depths aren't a disqualification from God's mercy. They're the starting place.

From the Depths — Psalm 130 and God's Forgiveness

At 3 AM, the ceiling becomes a screen for your worst moments. Each remembered failure plays on repeat, the sharp words you can't take back, the betrayal you can't undo, the pattern you swore you'd broken. The darkness whispers what you already fear: This time you've gone too far. Some lines, once crossed, can't be uncrossed.

This is exactly where the psalmist begins. Not with polished prayers or perfect repentance, but crying out from rock bottom, convinced he might be beyond God's reach. The opening words of Psalm 130 don't pretend everything is fine. They start where we often find ourselves, in the depths.
